Want to take part in the TrygFonden Christiansborg Rundt / Copenhagen Swim but don't have your own wetsuit? No problem: sailfish is once again the official wetsuit supplier for the event in 2026 and offers a wetsuit rental on-site. Here's everything you need to know about renting, from choosing the model to pre-ordering, timing, and cost.
What is the Copenhagen Swim?
The TrygFonden Christiansborg Rundt, known internationally as the Copenhagen Swim, is one of Scandinavia's largest open-water events. The swim takes place in the heart of Copenhagen, around Christiansborg Palace, over various distances for different ability levels. That makes the event appealing to ambitious open-water swimmers and motivated beginners alike.
Renting a wetsuit: sailfish as official supplier
As the official wetsuit supplier, sailfish provides rental wetsuits at the Copenhagen Swim. Based on your measurements, we'll recommend the right model for you, either the Ignite 3 or the Atlantic 2. Both are designed for open water, but they set different priorities:
- Ignite 3: The versatile all-rounder with balanced buoyancy. 3 mm neoprene at the chest, hips, and legs provides a stable body position and protection from the cold, while 1.5 mm at the shoulders and arms allows plenty of freedom of movement. Ideal if you value buoyancy, comfort, and a secure feeling in the water.
- Atlantic 2: The especially light, flexible model with 1.5 mm neoprene throughout. That means slightly less buoyancy, but great freedom of movement everywhere. A good choice if you already feel confident in the water and prioritize flexibility over maximum buoyancy.
Which model suits you better is something we decide based on your body measurements, so that size and buoyancy are truly right. You'll also find both models in our wetsuit collection.
Pre-order or rent on-site
You have two options:
- Pre-order: Send an email to info@sailfish.com with your first and last name, gender, height (cm), and weight (kg). Based on these details, we'll select the model and size for you. Pre-orders should arrive by the Friday one week before the event; later requests are usually handled on-site.
- Rent on-site: You can also just drop by the sailfish tent, and the team will help you directly with model and size selection. The tent is expected to be located near registration.
Rental period and times
This year, the wetsuit rental runs expected from July 27 to August 29, 2026. Pick-up and return take place on-site at the sailfish tent. The time windows are expected to remain as usual (all details subject to change):
- Arrival day: approx. 4:00 – 6:00 PM
- Second day: approx. 12:00 – 8:30 PM
- Race day: approx. 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
You'll find the binding dates and times shortly before the event on the official Copenhagen Swim page.
Cost and deposit
The rental costs €60 plus a €160 deposit. You get the deposit back in full if the wetsuit is returned undamaged. Payment on-site is by card only.
Love the wetsuit? You can simply keep it
If you really like your rental wetsuit, you don't have to return it at all. You simply keep the suit, and in return sailfish keeps the €160 deposit. Together with the €60 rental fee, the wetsuit is then paid off for a total of €220, and there's nothing else for you to do. That way you can take your time testing whether the suit works for you during the race, and take it straight home if you like it.
Prefer your own wetsuit?
If you swim in open water regularly, owning your own wetsuit can be worthwhile. For an overview of the different models and buoyancy classes, from entry-level to top suits for long distances, take a look at our wetsuit collection.
