On July 11 and 12, 2026, the World Triathlon Championship Series returns to Hamburg. Two full days of racing: the Sprint World Championship on Saturday, the Mixed Relay World Championship on Sunday. Right in the middle of it: sailfish. We've been part of this event for years and in 2026 we're once again on-site with our own stand at the exhibitor expo.
When and where does WTCS Hamburg 2026 take place?
The race takes place on July 11 and 12, 2026, right in the heart of Hamburg. The swim takes place in the Alster, the bike course passes well-known landmarks like the Speicherstadt and the Landungsbrücken, and the finish line is on Rathausmarkt. New in 2026: the World Triathlon Para Series makes its Hamburg debut for the first time.
The format: Sprint World Championship and Mixed Relay
On Saturday, the sprint-distance World Championship takes place: a 750 m swim, roughly 20 km of cycling over six laps, and a 5 km run over two laps. It's not an endurance race like a long-distance event, but around 45 minutes of full effort without a break. The Mixed Team Relay World Championship follows on Sunday.
Among the men, defending champion Matthew Hauser is one of the top favorites, alongside Vasco Vilaca, the current series leader. On the women's side, Léonie Périault is expected to line up, having come out on top in Hamburg the previous season. Final start lists will be confirmed in the official schedule.
sailfish has been on-site for years

The sailfish stand at the expo
At the expo, you'll meet the sailfish team in person. Take your time to browse our current collection and buy directly on-site. If you're unsure which wetsuit fits you best, you can also borrow a wetsuit and test it during the Open Races or in training before you decide to buy.
The exact stand number and opening hours aren't finalized yet – we'll add them as soon as they're confirmed.
No race entry needed: the Open Races
Alongside the World Championship, the Open Races take place, open to anyone with a start place, regardless of experience level. You can choose between a sprint distance (0.5 km swim / 20 km bike / 5 km run) and a standard distance (1.5 km swim / 40 km bike / 10 km run), both on the same iconic course as the pros.
